ENROLMENT
What you need to do?

Future learners GCSE results will determine which BTEC course they are placed on. Students not achieving a grade 4 in English and/or Maths will have additional lessons and resit the exam in year 12.

In addition to GCSE results, learners will also complete the following –

Attend a minimum of one open day, trial training session, trial match.

Be in receipt of a conditional offer letter from BASE and/or VLUK

Attend a personal interview

Attend an interview with parents

Purchase our kit & gym package.

EDUCATION
Partners

The BTEC curriculum is delivered in partnership with VLUK (Virtual Learning) all lessons are face to face and delivered in our classroom at Stoke Mandeville Stadium by our excellent tutors.

The program is full-time with lessons on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday Morning. Maths & English lessons take place on a Thursday afternoon, Wednesdays are for fixtures.

Bursaries are available through VLUK.

ENTRY Requirements

4 GCSE's (2 and above) including English & Maths
English & Maths are compulsory for those students who have not achieved a grade 4 in their GCSE's.

WORK Experience

As part of the qualification, learners will complete work experience through their two year programme. Learners will have the opportunity to work with a range of children from 3 years old to 16 in various settings such as primary schools delIvering PE, sport & physical activity, after school clubs and working with our partner clubs. Learned will also have the opportunity to be part of various sporting events.

FUTURE Pathways

Students who are successful on this course can move onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching & Development
Industry employment in the sport & leisure sector

THE NEXT Generation

The BTEC qualifications offer a variety of units which will ignite learners to explore what they would like to do as a career. We plan a number of visits each year to local Universities, host a number of guest speakers from various areas of sport and football all designed to give learners the great opportunity to plan their future.

Our learners high performance has allowed them to move onto Universities to study physical education, sports therapy, sports development, sports management, sports psychology and psychology leading to careers such as sports therapists, PE teachers, sports coaches, sports broadcasters.
